Drive genius 4 serial number12/9/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm not having any trouble with it, just want to ensure it stays that way. Hardware is a new 27" iMac (Late 2015) running Sierra 10.12.4 with (I think) latest updates. Before setting up backups and adding RAM, I wanted to ensure I had a nice, squeaky clean setup.so I'm hoping I can confirm all the little bits of Drive Genius have been completely cleaned up. ![]() And I'm going to load up on RAM (yes, I know, the stock 8 GB it came with is minimal). I will set up multiple cloned backups soon (my attempt to fix the external HD was a step towards that, but I'll be using different hardware). Very little in the way of data files, so worst case, I could wipe the thing and no big loss (although I don't think that's called for). It only has a handful of items installed on it (mostly some Adobe stuff, Chrome browser, and a couple minor utilities). This is a brand new 27" iMac (less than a week old). So I downloaded and ran the EntreCheck utility (results copy/pasted below). I *think* it removed all the bits of the program, but I wanted to be sure. The app has an Uninstall feature, so I used it. Drive Genius turned out to be completely useless for that purpose (I had v4, I guess there's a newer v5 for Sierra), and I soon gave up and concluded that I don't want Drive Genius on my Mac. Tonight, in a (failed) attempt to access and perhaps repair a stubborn external hard drive that refuses to mount, I installed the app "Drive Genius" v4 (I purchased Drive Genius a few months ago, before I had this current Mac, but anticipating I would want to resurrect that external drive - never installed or used it until tonight). ![]()
